Australia: Teach English in Japan with Gaba

Now Recruiting from Australia!

Gaba is Japan’s leading provider of 1-to-1 English Language lessons. Whether it’s a career change, a career break, or your first position, Gaba provides professional support and a flexible schedule system so you can enjoy teaching in Japan on your own terms.

About Gaba

At Gaba we take a unique approach to teaching and learning English:

  • At Gaba studios, all lessons are 1-to-1, meaning Instructors can focus exclusively on the particular study needs of their clients one by one.
  • The vast majority (95%) of our clients are adults meaning they are motivated and keen to learn. We refer to our students as “clients” to reflect the service aspect of the language instruction we provide. Teaching adults 1-2-1 meant that our Instructors can spend their time focusing on the art of teaching rather than on the disparate needs of large groups of learners.
  • Finally, we offer flexibile teaching schedules – as a Gaba Instructor you can choose your schedule each month in a way that suits you. We know that all of our over 1000 Instructors are unique and want to make the most of their time in Japan and the flexible schedule allows them to teach around their outside interests and commitments.

Recruiting From Australia

Gaba recruits new Instructors from Australia year round. Although we have over 70 nationalities teaching with us at any one time, around 10% of our Instructors are Australian nationals. We try to visit Australia to meet applicants once or twice a year (see above for any currently open events), however attendance isn’t mandatory and we can interview remotely so if there isn’t an event in your town anytime soon, you can go ahead and apply anyway.
